Mary Jean Proffitt Lowe

MARY JEAN LOWE

COOKEVILLE-Graveside services and internment for Mary Jean Proffitt Lowe, 83 of Cookeville will be held Tuesday September 25 at 11 A.M. at the Cookeville City Cemetery with Bro. Kelly Campbell and Mike O’Mara officiating.

Mrs. Lowe died Saturday, September 22, 2007 at home following an extended illness.

Mrs. Lowe was born June 27, 1924 in Cookeville to the late Herman Lee and Kathleen Isbell Proffitt.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband Morrison L. Lowe, Jr. and a twin brother, William I. Proffitt.

Mrs. Lowe was a charter member of Collegeside Church of Christ since it was formed in 1953. She graduated from Tennessee Tech University in 1945 in Physical Education.

She was a loving wife, mother and friend, loved by all who knew her. She will be sadly missed, but she will always live in our hearts because of the wonderful example and the impact she had on our lives.

The family wants to thank the caregivers and especially wants to thank her two special caregivers: Lisa Waters and Lori Usrey, for the loving care given to her during her illness.

Her family includes Son Morrison Lewis “MONTE” Lowe, III and his wife Janet Masters Lowe of Cookeville, her two sisters-in-law Mrs. William I. (Betty) Proffitt of Cleveland, Tn., Laura Shields Lowe Medley and brother-in-law Martin Luke Medley, Jr. of Cookeville.

Active Pallbearers will be Bill & Jim Smith, Brett Stanton, Lee & Andrew Woosley, Jeff Gleason.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Cookeville High School Class of 1942, a class of true friends.
Family will receive friends at Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home Monday, Sept. 24 from 4:30 to 8 P.M.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Collegeside Church of Christ, University Christian Center, 252 East 9th St., Cookeville, Tn. 38501.
