Security measures increased at the GEC

Gaylord Entertainment Center General Manager Hugh Lombardi, in conjunction with law enforcement agencies and the National Hockey League, have annonuced that upcoming Predators games taking place at the Gaylord Entertainment Center will be subject to enhanced security measures.
Specifically, all guests will be subject to metal detection screening and electronic wand screening.
"Working with local law enforcement officials, we are confident we have the necessary policies and procedures in place to maintain a safe and comfortable environment," Lombardi said. "We ask our guests for patience and understanding when entering the building and to allow extra time."
Among the steps being taken at the Gaylord Entertainment Center:
- No unauthorized vehicles are permitted to park on the streets surrounding the Gaylord Entertainment Center (Fifth, Sixth, Demonbreun and Broadway)
- All delivery vehicles will be closely searched and monitored
- All individuals entering the facility are subject to metal detector screening and electronic wand screening
- All bags will be checked upon entry to the facility (artificial noisemakers, bottles, cans, food are among prohibited items)
- Police and security presence inside and outside the facility
- Use of security cameras throughout the facility
The only GEC representatives who will comment regarding Gaylord Entertainment Center security policies and procedures are GEC General Manager Hugh Lombardi or Assistant General Manager Mike Wooley.
