Both Tech teams on the road to face Top 25 teams Saturday

By TTU Sports Information

December 13, 2002

The Tennessee Tech basketball teams get a chance to play in the national spotlight Saturday as both the men's and women's teams face opponents ranked in the Top 25. The Golden Eaglettes (2-2) play at the University of Georgia at 1 p.m. CST. The Lady Bulldogs are ranked 20th in the latest AP women's poll. Later Saturday, the Golden Eagles (4-2) play at 23rd ranked Creighton University at 7 p.m. in Omaha, Neb. Saturday's dip by both teams into the Top 25 marks the first time since Dec. 12, 1999, that both TTU basketball teams faced ranked foes. On that Sunday three years ago, the women dropped a close 77-72 decision to #5 Georgia in Eblen Center, and the men fell to #6 North Carolina, 85-59, in Chapel Hill. Tech fans can listen to both games this Saturday on WHUB radio (am 1400) or via Teamline on the telephone or the internet.
