Flip N Burgers

Have you ever noticed that all fast food burger places have the same ad campaign? They all start out showing you their competitors and telling you how awful burgers have become thanks to fast food in our country. Then, they immediately contrast that with themselves, or at least how they would like you to see themselves, by telling you that their burgers are what burgers are supposed to be and that their sandwiches are somehow more inventive or classic than everyone else’s burgers. They all center their advertisements around this image of a perfect burger shop that doesn’t really exist in the real world. At least, I never thought it really existed until I discovered Flip N Burgers.

Flip N Burgers isn’t one of those big fast food places, but they are, in my opinion, the realization of the ideal burger joint. Flip N Burgers serves real, flavorful burgers with drinks and sides and not much else. They do offer some healthier alternatives like chicken sandwiches, but generally, they don’t vary from their core product, and that seems to be what makes them so good at what they do. They focus so intently on creating great burgers that their burgers reach a whole new level of taste that eating at fast food places would have you thinking didn’t exist.

Further, Flip N Burgers is more inventive than any fast food place you’ll ever find. They offer such brilliant toppings as nacho cheese,¬†fresh spinach, salsa verde, and pico de gallo. I never would of thought of putting pico de gallo on a burger, but now that I’ve had it at their store, no burger seems complete without it. They offer four different types of cheese rather than the one you’d expect at McDonalds or Wendy’s. They cook their food to order and aren’t afraid to go off the menu if you request it. Flip N Burgers sets themselves apart not just by being better at what the other places are doing, but also by doing what other places haven’t even thought of yet.

Of course, just because they’re my ideal burger place, doesn’t mean they will be for all. Admittedly, their food isn’t for everyone. Their burger patties are essentially big, greasy hamburger steaks on a bun, and their sandwiches can easily turn out bigger than your own head sometimes. Their food is definitely an indulgence, but it’s one that I thoroughly enjoy and highly recommend. I believe everyone, at the very least, should give them a try, so if you’d like to do so, they have two locations: one in the Cookeville Mall and one at what many of you may know as the old Algood Diner. I encourage everyone, go try a burger.
